Your words stay
on your Mac.
Your voice and text stay on your Mac. Payments and license activation use the network, without sending your dictations.
Voice and text
Speech recognition and text cleanup run locally. Sayble does not send your recordings or transcripts to a cloud transcription service. Optional Improve Text (Experimental) also processes text with a local model. When it is unavailable, Sayble uses basic cleanup.
When Save dictation history is enabled, the text of past dictations, their dates and insertion outcomes are stored locally on your Mac. Dictation History does not store audio recordings. You can delete individual entries from History or clear all entries in Settings → Privacy. Turning history off deletes the saved history.
Putting text into your apps
Sayble uses macOS Accessibility and, when needed, the system clipboard and simulated paste to insert text into the focused field. That destination app receives the text and handles it under its own privacy policy. A clipboard manager may also observe clipboard-based insertion.
Model downloads
The speech model is downloaded from Hugging Face using FluidAudio. The download provider receives normal connection information, including your IP address. Audio and transcripts are not part of that download request. The optional text-editing model is also downloaded from Hugging Face only after you choose Download. Once the required models are installed and ready, dictation can work offline.
In-app updates
When you choose Check for Updates…, Sayble fetches signed release information from sayble.nuta.life and can download the signed app update after you choose to install it. The hosting provider receives normal connection information, including your IP address. No voice, transcripts or system profile are included. Update checks are manual.
Data on your Mac
Speech models are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Sayble/Models/. App preferences and any enabled dictation history are stored locally. History is saved in ~/Library/Application Support/Sayble/DictationHistory.json. Trial start time, the latest observed trial time, and your activated license are stored in your Mac’s Keychain. Demo and paid licenses use separate storage. These records survive replacing the app. To remove the app and its models, follow the uninstall instructions.
Permissions
Microphone access enables recording. Accessibility supports the global key and text insertion. You can revoke permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Payments and license activation
Your email before downloading or buying
We ask for your email and, optionally, your name before providing the trial download or sending you to checkout. We store these details and the action you requested separately from anonymous analytics, for delivery and product support. This does not subscribe you to marketing emails. A request to buy is not proof of a completed purchase.
If email confirmation is enabled, we send a single-use link that expires in 30 minutes. We only mark your address as verified after you confirm it. Until then, submitted addresses are unverified. Unverified contact records are removed after 30 days on subsequent contact requests or report visits. Confirmed contacts are retained for support until you request deletion at yuri.istom@gmail.com, subject to records required for an actual purchase.
A necessary, secure browser cookie lasts up to one hour to continue your selected download or purchase. When you continue to Polar, we pass the email and optional name you submitted to prefill checkout. Email delivery, when enabled, is handled by our transactional email provider. We do not link your email to anonymous browsing sessions or dictations.
Paid checkout is hosted by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar processes the purchaser’s email, payment and billing details, and order information under its privacy policy. Sayble’s developer can access order and license information for support and fulfillment. Card details are not collected by the Sayble app.
When you choose Activate License in a paid-capable build, Sayble sends your license key and a product-specific hash of your Mac’s hardware identifier to the Sayble activation service. The raw hardware identifier stays on your Mac. The service checks your license with Polar and returns a signed certificate bound to that Mac. It stores the license identifier, hashed Mac code, activation identifier, and activation-attempt time to handle retries and recovery; it does not store your raw license key. Polar also stores the activation and hashed Mac code to manage the 2-Mac limit.
The signed certificate stays in Keychain and contains no email or payment details. After activation, the app verifies it locally with no recurring online checks. Manual activation at /activate uses the same service and data. Hosting and payment providers receive normal connection information, including IP addresses. Audio and transcripts are never included in these requests.
Analytics and updates
The Mac app does not send usage analytics. No automatic update service is implemented. Future app event analytics require a separate, explicit opt-in.
This website
Website analytics are optional and off until you choose “Allow analytics.” We count visits, download-button clicks and transitions to Polar, grouped by a general source such as Google, Reddit or direct traffic. Our own counts do not collect recordings, transcripts, app names, email addresses, full referring URLs or arbitrary campaign text. No advertising pixels are used.
With your consent, Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page visits and performance, including page paths, referring sites, approximate country, browser and device type. Cloudflare receives normal connection information and does not use analytics cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your choice is stored in this browser. If you allow analytics, a random identifier is stored for the current tab and renewed after 30 minutes of inactivity. Daily records count each action once per session. Reports cover up to 90 days; older records are deleted on subsequent analytics requests. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable collection. Use “Analytics preferences” at the bottom of the page to withdraw consent; this stops future collection but does not remove earlier anonymous counts.
If you allow analytics and continue to Polar, only the general traffic-source category is added to the checkout link. Polar independently provides order, revenue and checkout-conversion statistics. The developer’s statistics page also shows successful license activations from the operational license records described above. Website sessions are not linked to your email, license or dictations.
The hosting service processes connection data, such as IP addresses and browser request details, to serve the site and downloads. Its handling is described by the hosting provider’s privacy policy.
